The Calvario Neighborhood

The Programme for Prevention and Support for Street Children and Youth, PANICA, aims to reduce the vulnerability of children and youth who live or spend considerable amount of their time in the street; or who suffer from urban school and juvenile violence. The overall aim is to improve quality of life and living conditions of the beneficiary population, including the parents and families of targeted children and youth.

691 persons in Cali, between the ages of five and 80, are benefitting from protective factors developed at individual, family and community levels, and by support for health growth and development.

40% of the 691 persons linked to the project in Cali since 2009, have experienced significant changes in behaviour, in the nature of parent-child relations, in the roles played in the family and in the reduction of intra-family violence.
